MAKE YOUR OWN Shower Gel/Dread/Hair Washes/Skin Moisturizer at home from your GARDEN

900 600 Suburban Farmer

Shower gels, dread/hair washes and face/body scrubs are some of the easiest things to make yet, we’re often led to believe that they are not easy to make and suggested that NATURAL DOES NOT WORK as well as science.

“Scientifically proven”, “Backed by science”, “Lab tested”, “Industry approved” …etc and the list goes on trying to convince people we probably shouldn’t make our own products at home and that a science is better. This is strange as its exactly what most, if not all, products are/were based off and originally made from. NATURE.

In fact, almost every product you use in the HOME was originally made from NATURE. The only scientific thing is that the white coats figured out how to make these so outrageously specific and individualistic (1000’s of different products) in marriage with psychological marketing and now INFLUENCER’S causing poor or weakened inner dialogue usually based in low self-confidence about their appearance attributed to the constant bombardment of ANTI AGING, FLAWLESS SKIN, HAIR, IMPECCABLE TEETH, FACE AND BODY making the AVERAGE REAL HUMAN look and feel less than BEAUTIFUL and very much insecure.

YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL, YOU ARE ROYAL. YOU MATTER!!

***Just out of interest on various GLOBAL PROFESSIONAL MODEL WEBSITES there are around 13000 registered models. And in stark contrast, around 3.9 BILLION WOMEN.

So what does a REAL WOMEN look like? Go stand in front of a mirror!

On top of all that pressure by fashion and the industries, almost everything you buy off the supermarket shelves will not only cost a lot of money, but also contain several nasty, petroleum and oil-based chemicals irritating and inflaming the body, also destroying our PLANET, and at the same time, trying to sell you something to sooth the same skin their products have just irritated.

NOW TO MAKE THE BODY NOURISHED WE MUST ALSO NOURISH OUR SPIRITS AND INNERSELF – DIVINE BALANCE And here is some fantastic news however, and it’s all ACHIEVABLE and AFFORDABLE, OBTAINABLE and SENSIBLE, ECONOMICAL and ENVIRONMENTALLY SAFE, BIOSPHERICALLY CONSCIOUS, DIVINLY UPFUL and pretty dang GOOD.  All found within your garden, and lastly, WONDERFULLY VIBRATIONAL for your BODY, HAIR and SKIN and SPIRIT as well as BLESSED MUMMA and PAPPA EARTH.

Nearly everyone has access to Aloe Vera plants. Either growing in your balcony or backyard or at someone else’s garden, it is readily available and a perfect weekend project for you and the kids!

Prickly Pear may be harder to source, but can be found *SAFETY FIRST

Same way with Stinging Nettles

Hibiscus Flowers and Leaves can be found in most gardens somewhere. Okra works just as well.

Rosemary and herbs like Thyme, Mint and Peppermint, Holy Basil, Pineapple Marigold are common in gardens. Even Cardamom, Ginger and Rue can be found in gardens.  Turmeric may cause staining.

Lemon Grass, Kaffir Lime Leaves, Buddhas Hands, Pink Guava, Papaya, Mango, Star Fruit, Noni Fruit etc also great and healing.

Lavender and Fragrant flowers like Rose Geranium and Roses, even Citrus and Stone Fruit Blossoms also common in gardens.

***Essential oils, Castile Soap and Shea Butter have to be brought.

Not only will this teach the youth about natural products and the link to natural skin and health, where they are found and how to identify them, their uses, but if not more importantly to love themselves and not be IN LOVE WITH THEMSELVES, to see what we as parents and best friends see in our youth, teaching them to find  overstanding that they are truly beautiful.

Here’s what you will need:

  • 1 cup castile soap
  • 2 tbsp Raw Shea butter (this is optional, but adding this increases the dermal hydration properties of the gel)
  • 1 cup Aloe Vera Gel – just grab a few Aloe Vera leaves, peel off the green part of the leaves on one side. Scoop out the gel using a spoon
  • Hibiscus/Okra Petals and Flowers in fresh water – crush and macerate until a gel forms and then strain liquid
  • Essential Oils or dried plants/herbs material of your choice – you need to add in about 20 ml
  • OPTIONAL : Prickly Pear Cactus – PARENTS WILL HAVE TO DO THIS FOR SAFETY REASONS. Cut up and mash up in fresh water then strain liquid
  • 3-4 cups water

Here’s how to make it:

  • Get the Aloe Vera jelly, and blend it using a mixer-blender for a couple of minute, strain and set aside in large mixing bowl
  • Mash up the Prickly Pear, blend and strain, add to the Aloe Vera
  • Chop up Herbs, Flowers and Leaves – add to 3 cups water and simmer for 10-15 minutes until you have about ½ cup remaining then let rest for 10 minutes.  Strain water and add it to the Aloe and Cactus Gel
  • Warm the shea butter until it’s completely melted in another bowl (add the essential oils of your choice to 20ml)
  • Put it all together in a bottle, close the lid – and shake it for a minute.

YOUR garden gel is now ready! Bliss yourself and your friends

**If you live in a very hot area, it may be a good idea to keep the gels in the fridge when you are not using it, in order to extend their shelf life.
